Ashland will provide excellent educational opportunities with the forthcoming opening of a community elementary and a junior high school, both planned to be completed by fall 2025.
The upcoming Elementary school, Heartland Elementary, which will be home to the Wildcats, will be led by principal Emily Davis. Davis emphasized the importance of community in her note to future Heartland Elementary School families.
“Collaboration will be a cornerstone of our school’s success. By working together—students, teachers, families, and the broader community—we will build a strong, supportive network that fosters meaningful connections and deepens relationships. We understand that when we work as a team, we can achieve great things and make sure every student feels valued, heard, and encouraged,” she said.
Kelsey Payne, principal of the new Heritage Junior High School, wrote about the four key pillars that will shape the school’s approach to learning and student success: increasing student engagement, building strong relationships, creating a culture of success, and prioritizing academic achievement.
Both schools will be a part of Angleton Independent School District (AISD) and will be located within the Ashland community.
AISD encompasses 396 square miles in Brazoria County, educates approximately 6,700 students, and serves a population of more than 37,000. Accredited by the Texas Education Agency, the district provides a high-quality and comprehensive education for pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade.
